August Bernard Koorem | Anna & Linda Korem / Koorem

August Bernhard Korem / Koorem (known as Ben) was the younger brother of Karl Koorem.  He was a baker in Kuressaare and had his own bakery – B. Kooremi Pagariäri.

He was born in 1886 and was originally married to Anna and they had a daughter Linda Korem who was born in 1923.  They divorced in 1941 and he was later married to Theresia Amilde Koorem (1894 – 1950) who already had a daughter Jessy Ludig.  Theresia is buried in Kudjape Cemetery in Kuressaare.

Anna and Linda moved to Sweden after the divorce.  Linda was a nurse and worked in a big hospital in Stockholm. She died of cancer in 1954.  Anna thereafter lived alone for many years, she died in 1971.  Erika’s brother Paul moved to Sweden in 1945.  His daughter Therese remembers visiting Anna around 1970.

According to Therese her father Paul and Anna remained in contact during the years and they wrote to each other – and when he was to Stockholm he visited her. When she got really old, a church worker helped her and it was she that told Paul that she had died.  She is buried in Solna Cemetery, Stockholm.

August Bernhard Korem is buried in the Kudjape Cemetery in Kuressaare.
