Alfred Rudolf Koorem was born on 28/9/1922 and is the twin of Paul Koorem. He was married Irene Vakrom who was born on 26/4/1926 in Viljandi. She died on 19/3/1989. They had three children: Neeme Koorem who was born on 8/11/1962 in Kuressaare, Tarvo Koorem who was born on 22/2/1952 Kuressaare and died 1/1/1981 in Parnu and Peeter Koorem who was born on 22/2/1952 and died in infancy.
Alfred Koorem fought in World War II. After the war he returned to Saaremaa and his occupation included shop work, cabinet making and carpentry. He settled in Haapsalu where he built his own house.
Alfred’s son Neeme operated a goat farm near Haapsalu. His grand daughter Kadri is working on her PhD at Tartu University.
